SWEETIE PIE (written for my daughter, Alexa)

How do you make a sweetie pie

Is it something you can bake?

Are there special things that go in it

Do you frost it like a cake?

What are the ingredients

That make it taste so sweet?

I imagine there’s no dirt or bugs

Or socks from smelly feet

Maybe there’s my mama’s grin

And my daddy’s silly laugh

Some flowers and some bumblebees

A kissie and a half

I know I’d add some polka dots

Some red and green and blue

A trip to a big parade

Amusement park and zoo

I want to make a sweetie pie

As sweet as sweet can be

I ask my mama and she laughs

Says a sweetie pie is me

Ok, i haven’t read it all yet but you are a fantastic writer! You have inspired me to write about the happiest occasion in my life, my son. More later!

I loved that poem. And I know that boardwalk featured on your homepage!

How totally wonderful. One could not ask for more.
A delight to the soul, a joy to the mind, and a bubble filled with rainbows that emanate the love you have for your children.

Thank you so much for sharing.

I would not have had this delight, had you not left a comment behind my comment on Cactus Petunia’s Buenos Burritos blog. Thank you much!
