I imagine that every person in the world at one point or another, says, “I should write a book.” Whether it be a how-to parenting guide, a memoir about your life in the circus, or a good old-fashioned murder mystery, we’ve all thought it, right?
“I should write a book.”
Or maybe you are writing one? (Or have written one, you lucky bastard.)
Either way, what book do you want to write someday? Give us the synopsis, and if you are so inclined, share an excerpt (even if you have to write one for the purposes of this exercise).
At one time or another, I’ve wanted to write an exposé on writing conferences, a how-to hypochondriac’s guide, and a memoir titled, “I’ll do it tomorrow: When today you’re just too tired to plan the rest of your life.”
So what book do you want to write someday?
First time to PROMPTuesday? Welcome! Read a bit about this weekly writing exercise here.

My memoirs. Although I’m kind of thinking my blog kills that idea completely. Who’d pay for the book when they could just go read it on my blog?

I’m currently trying to put together a series of children’s books emphazing the great wealth of blessings we have surrounding us.
I’d also like to write a book about everything you should know before you move out of your parents house. A 101 guide to the real world.

Last September I spent a month in a cabin in Evergreen, Colorado looking at houses AND revising my second (unpublished) novel. I stopped the revision process at the end of my month. Though I promised to finish the revision process when I got back home and even created a bloggy place to post the chapters I’d completed, I didn’t. Here’s the proof: http://workinprogress-suzanne.blogspot.com/, you’ll notice that the last post was four months ago. Lately I’ve been thinking about the book…the second half that needs to be written and wishing I’d get back to it….so far thinking has not applied posterior to chair.

Next up on my list is a Family Adventure Guidebook to San Diego. I hope it will be chock full of fun and affordable activitiesto do with kids in this wonderful area.
I have always wanted to write a novel about my Grandmother in law. She was an orphan, who moved to California, became a nanny, fell in love with a butcher, married him, became a soldier’s wife…her whole story was very romantic and full of drama.

I’m in the throes of a book about a woman who takes up karate and learns how to defend herself and gets empowered in the rest of her life too–it’s 2/3 done!

Well I want to finish the one I’m working on but I also have an idea for one. I should write about them in my writing blog. In fact, I’ll change my url to that…

My friends and I have been talking about writing books over the past year or so. That is actually why I started my blog. I don’t think that I could ever really take the time to write a book. If you have links and guides on how to write a book. I would love to refer the info to my friend.

I think it would have to be fiction. Mystery perhaps. Short, laced with quirkiness. But I think I’d just like to write one book, and it to become a cult classic…
…In my dreams. Nice dreams.

Loved reading these everybody! NOW GO WRITE THEM!
(I say this with love.)
As for me, I’ve posted excerpts of my work in progress before, but in a a nutshell, I working on a middle grade novel (think Wrinkle in Time and The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe reader age group) that is about the power of imagination. If I were to nutshell it, I’d say my book is about, “the mysterious disappearance of her elderly neighbor leads an impulsive young girl and her friends on a journey to save the world.”
Not like I’m overly ambitious with my story pitch or anything.
*Sigh*
