Living the Love: A Giveaway, Sorta.

Etcetera

Hi, it’s me, San Diego Momma.

Look, I love you guys, by which I mean, girls. And maybe guy? One? Broham?

No matter.

First of all, you make me laugh. Also, you’re super sweet, like major. And supportive. Even people I haven’t e-met yet, you seem cool. I’ve extrapolated such.

So like I said, I love you.

And this really has nothing to do with the Google ad at right. (Is it still the one with the cavortious females?)

Anyway, so there’s this thing I do for people I love.

(Not that!)

I make them mix CDs.

I can’t help it.

It’s a compulsion.

For Christmas, I made my book club mix CDs with songs inspired by the books we’d read.

I make my husband and the odd friend CDs based on the seasons, e.g. Fall Mix 2004, Summer Slams, etc. I push CDs on drinking buddies (try this! you’ll like it! it’s my “Party Hearty” mix!). I bring mix CDs to anniversary parties, weddings, birthdays, casual get-togethers, bar mitvahs. I even have a “Bathroom Mix” (Yellow Submarine is on it.) I mix, mix, mix.

I’m a mixer! Yes, that’s it! A mixer. Also, “weird” is another word I’ve heard related to my person.

Either way.

I’d like to make one of you a mix CD. BUT, I need to know a few things about you first, because my mix CDs are personalized. So, please answer my idiotic carefully selected questions below, then post a comment so I can pick you at random and send you my labor of love.

I’m a mixer, not a hater.

My questions are below. If you prefer, e-mail the answers to me (but also post a comment, because I’ll be using my super hypno ninja comment randomizer to select the bemused and befuddled lucky mixee).

Thanks. You’re great. I love you.

Questions:

1. Where would you listen to this mix CD?

2. Are you pessimistic, optimistic, or omnimistic?

3. Do you have a regret in life? What is it?

4. If you were forced to do one of these things, which would you select: fully and deeply lick a toilet rim or sip a cup of George W. Bush’s spit?

5. Are you social or introverted?

6. What’s your good luck charm?

7. Would you rather live by the ocean, on a mountaintop or in the country?

8. Pretend husband’s name?

Thank you. Randomizer ninja comment picker outter will blindly select a mix CD recipient on Monday evening, 8PM PST. And, anybody can enter! Like I said, these CDs are personalized.

    1 In the car
    2. All of the above
    3. Regret? Yeah, but that’s pretty deep. Remember the story I told you about finding a certain someone’s blog? Well, I probably should still be hanging with that certain somebody.
    4. That’s more raunchy than Fear Factor shit. None. I’m out.
    5. Social
    6. My kids
    7. Ocean by far
    8. Matt Damon

I love give-aways. They bring out the greedy in people, okay me.

    1. Where would you listen to this mix CD?
    In the car.
    2. Are you pessimistic, optimistic, or omnimistic?
    Optimistic–big time!
    3. Do you have a regret in life? What is it?
I made a very mean but hysterically funny comment to my best friend in 8th grade, in front of a group of people. Even though I immediately apologized for it (and continued apologizing for several years), I still feel guilty over it.
    4. If you were forced to do one of these things, which would you select: fully and deeply lick a toilet rim or sip a cup of George W. Bush’s spit?
    Toilet rim!
    5. Are you social or introverted?
    You’ve met me–social.
    6. What’s your good luck charm?
Hmmmm. I don’t really believe in luck.
    7. Would you rather live by the ocean, on a mountaintop or in the country?
    Ocean all the way.
    8. Pretend husband’s name?
    John Cusack.

can i just say that i’m drawn to your blog like a moth to a flame? it’s starting to creep me out how much i relate to your posts! i am a mix queen too, but make them on my ipod. i have so many mixes, i wouldn’t know where to start… but i want one of yours!

    1. Where would you listen to this mix CD?
on my ipod, so that could be anywhere really. besides my computer, i have ipod hookups on my home stereo, work stereo, and car. and if it’s an 80’s dance mix, it could make it to my running rotation. too shy shy hush hush eye to eye…

    2. Are you pessimistic, optimistic, or omnimistic?
overall, i’m probably optimistic. that’s partly by default, because my husband is a pessimist (he says he’s a realist)

    3. Do you have a regret in life? What is it?
there’s not enough room on your blog.

    4. If you were forced to do one of these things, which would you select: fully and deeply lick a toilet rim or sip a cup of George W. Bush’s spit?
that’s just not fair. i would never even share a toothbrush with my husband. that’s just disgusting. and i stopped watching survivor after the first season when the maggots came out. bush spit = maggots.

    5. Are you social or introverted?
kind of a combination. i force myself to be social, but i’m more comfortable listening than talking.

    6. What’s your good luck charm?
don’t have one, sorry. i believe in hard work, not luck.

    7. Would you rather live by the ocean, on a mountaintop or in the country?
i’m an ocean girl. i’ve lived my life by the water, and i feel as though i’m going to suffocate if i get to far away.

    8. Pretend husband’s name?
i’ve been married to the same person for almost 20 years – more than 1/2 my life. is it weird if i say i’ve never fantasized about another? he’s really pretty great.

    i can’t wait!!!

Is it fair to enter again, since I already have three mixed cds from you which I LOVE! I am driving by myself for three hours this weekend and I already packed the ones you made me in the car. I LOVE THEM!!!

So for all you people wondering if commenting is worth it…. IT IS! Comment and win. You won’t regret it!

    okay, here go my answers.

    Questions:

    1. Where would you listen to this mix CD?
at my desk and in the car

    2. Are you pessimistic, optimistic, or omnimistic?
    definitely optimistic.

    3. Do you have a regret in life? What is it?
not really. i love my life. And I don’t like looking back anyway. I am very much a get over it and move on kind of gal.

    4. If you were forced to do one of these things, which would you select: fully and deeply lick a toilet rim or sip a cup of George W. Bush’s spit?
really? I remember watching seven guys do this thing where the first one brushed their teeth and spit the rinse water into a cup. And they used that same cup the whole way down the line. the seventh guy swallowed it. Oh – I am gagging as I type this! Excuse me…

    5. Are you social or introverted?
    social.

    6. What’s your good luck charm?
don’t really have one. Can I say my husband?

    7. Would you rather live by the ocean, on a mountaintop or in the country?
Unless it is Pemberly, I am going to say none and live near a city. San Antonio isn’t that big but there are a few skyscrapers.

    8. Pretend husband’s name? Daniel all the way.

Bemuddled, Confused, but what they heck!

1.Probably in the car with Little Monster when we’re driving around down.

    2. Definitely Optimistic. Unless it’s raining. Then I’m a pessimist. Or I haven’t had my coffee yet. Then I’m a murderous wench.

    3. Nothing that I REALLY regret yet.

    4. How much bleach do you I have? Yeah… I think that’s where I pretty much draw the line…

    5. Social. Definitely.

    6. My kid. Seriously, when I was preggo I got the BEST yahtzee scores ever.. and I still do when he’s in my lap.

    7. That’s why I love CA. I’m only a few miles from ALL of those things!!!

    8. Tim.

Oh. I love you too!! MUAH!

    1. Where would you listen to this mix CD?
In the car, in the kitchen or on my iPod.

    2. Are you pessimistic, optimistic, or omnimistic?
I am generally optimistic, believe it or not.

    3. Do you have a regret in life? What is it?
I should have slept with (insert a couple of names here).

    4. If you were forced to do one of these things, which would you select: fully and deeply lick a toilet rim or sip a cup of George W. Bush’s spit?
Is the toilet rim clean? I mean, if it was one of my toilets, which I just cleaned, yes, I would rather do that than consume W’s bodily fluids. I would also tongue-kiss him afterward so he could enjoy the taste of the toilet. If it’s W’s toilet? I’ll be a spitsipper. *shudder*

    5. Are you social or introverted?

I’m social among people I know (for example, I would not have worn the Batgirl costume if I hadn’t know the people at the party). My natural propensity is to be introverted and contemplative.

    6. What’s your good luck charm?
Don’t have one, not even lucky underwear.

    7. Would you rather live by the ocean, on a mountaintop or in the country? I live in the country on a mountaintop. I plan to retire to the ocean to be a puttering old lady in a bungalow.

    8. Pretend husband’s name?
Joaquin Phoenix. And I scoff at “pretend.” Oh but when I dream, Matt Damon is always my boyfriend or husband. Don’t know why. I think it’s b/c he remdins me of someone from #3.
