A Request From My Soul

Etcetera

Do you suppose you might do me a favor?

Leave me your favorite inspirational quote or link to a beautiful song or poem or picture or something else lovely?

I would so appreciate it.

To be trite.

But I really would.

Meanwhile, this is for you:

Alternatively, if you want to leave a link to something funny. My soul would like that too.

So again, for you:

Thank you.

I saw this sign on our weekend away.
Hubby and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary by hanging out at the Oregon Coast.

We did not stop. I was afraid he wouldn’t want to leave.

Love that song. And that second video made me laugh. If only. :)

    So for you:

Inspirational, about writing: I don’t teach writing. I teach patience. Toughness. Stubborness. The willingness to fail. I teach the life. The odd thing is most of the things that stop an inexperienced writer are so far from the truth as to be nearly beside the point. When you feel global doubt about your talent, that is your talent. People who have no talent don’t have any doubt. –Richard Bausch, from Off the Page: Writers Talk About Beginnings, Endings, and Everything in Between

Beautiful words from Rilke: Comfort me from wherever you are – alone, we are quickly worn out; if I place my head on the road, let it seem softened by you. Could it be that even from afar we offer each other a gentle breath? –Rainer Marie Rilke

    A pretty, soulful song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZg2sHkujP0

And now for something funny (she cracks me the hell up): http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/10/god-of-cake.html

I got the inspiration from Ilina P to post this vid on youtube to give you a laugh. Not sure where Lexi learned her “special” dance move at the end. I hope it makes you laugh. Otherwise maybe you can laugh at the crazy disaster that is my livingroom in this little ditty.

I love that Etheridge song. Have since the first time I heard it.

This quote from Henrik Ibsen has been speaking to me for a couple of months, ““A community is like a ship; everyone ought to be prepared to take the helm.”

And, I know I’m biased, but I think these photos of my dog totally punching above his weight class are very funny (pay no attention to the extra chin I brought along for protection): http://www.flickr.com/photos/31403417@N00/sets/72157625168648843/

I think my favorite quote is from the Beatles:
“And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”

But James Taylor’s “You Can Close Your Eyes” will make me a puddle of maudlin sentimentality – just in case you need to purge!

“Who, being loved, is poor?” – Oscar Wilde. I always remind myself how much being loved by someone is really worth, it’s a helpful quote for those moments of weakness when I erroneously think that too many things are missing in my life.
