The Rock helped me out with this one. Tired and spent last night, I couldn’t put a PROMPT together for nothing. So my husband got on Ffffound and procured several images to inspire my thinking. I am including most of the pictures here. This week, I’d like if you were to pick one and write a story. You can even string them all together into a cohesive bit of prose if that’s where your creative road leads you.
As you might tell from the pictures below, I’m a big portrait person. I love studying faces and wondering what someone is thinking, and honestly? the more wrinkles the better…to me, they suggest multi-dimensionality. But it could just mean they’re old. Also, I love mysterious settings. The isolated house, the tunnel leading nowhere. I am impressed that The Rock took my vague pointers (“people,” and “weird places”) and came up with the following photos.
So now, if you would, use one or some or all of the images and make a story.

These are my favorite prompts. My 6th & 12th grade teachers were very fond of these. My 6th grade teach always showed us Depression era photos — usually Walker Evens — and I think the appeal of writing about that era can be traced to his prompts.
When you do this again, find Creative Commons photos. Then you won’t have to worry about whether it’s okay :)
