You Made Me Love You

Etcetera

Spring does this to me every time.

I think I hate it — since I much prefer darker days, less blue and more atmospheric fretfulness than Spring cheerfully delivers. Actually, Autumn is my season — the Autumns of butternut squash, soups and breads and books taken to read before the fire. Spring? Bleh. Too sunshiney. Too happy. Not enough comfort food.

No, spring is all fruit picked from the tree and bursting flower pods

Yet. It does manage to sneak up on me and beguile with its winsomeness. Cotton dresses — I prefer alpaca — but there’s something charming about bright warm weather wear, I’ll give you that.

Spring is learning to ride bikes, the promise of fireworks, and patio happy hours.

Spring, you harpy. You did it again.

I don’t want to like you. I’m too introspective and schizo for Spring. Give me a rocking chair and life examined instead.

But here you are in your green skirts and honeyed wrists and fluttery laugh.

I gotta give it you: You’re a heck of a flirt.

What’s your favorite season? Anyone else an Autumn?

I’m with ya! Fall is my season too (shocker) — love the leaves, the fog, the rain … drizzly dreary days — but man, I’m READY for spring!

And here’s a little known fact: MP’s middle name is Wynne. Which comes from the description the pediatrician at the hospital gave her the day she was born: Winsome. One of my favorite words. :

Seeing as I am in Jersey, Spring is a welcome vacation from ugly winter. I love Spring, I love the renewal and the flowers and the flip flops. But Autumn… I still have to say Autumn is my favorite. It is a close tie, but Autumn has Halloween and October (2 of my favorite things). How is San Diego? I spent 10 days there last July and have missed it ever since haha!

Call me weird; I like winter. Short days, long nights; maybe I’ve been in the Northwest too long. Sigh.

Spring is lovely though; I must admit.

I’m with you on the Autumn. I love the changing leaves, the smell of burning leaves, the windy blustery days that makes curling up on the couch with a book awesome. Yeah I love all that. And yet I live in the desert where it doesn’t get cold and leaves don’t change.

I’m an autumn person – the colors just look better on me. All those pastels popping up everywhere have a tendency to make me look washed out. It’s all about me… even the seasons.

I promise I’m not avoiding choosing, but I genuinely love them all. I live in a place where we experience all four seasons and they’re very well timed – none of them last too long, and they’re all “classic” as far as what we experience. I love them all.

Autumn ALL THE WAY!!! Hate summer. Only thing I see in Summer in me feeling fat, sweaty and very very unsexy. who the hell needs that?

Fall is where it’s at! After the hot days of summer, the finally cool days are such a relief. There’s Halloween and Thanksgiving and sweaters and not having to water the plants. LOVE fall. I’ll give spring a good runner-up trophy, though. Spring smells good.

I’m all Spring, followed closely by Autumn. I like skipping summer. It’d be better right after winter, if you ask me.

I confess…I love ’em all! Spring’s promise, summer’s warm embrace, autumn’s brisk blaze of glory, and winter’s bright white snowy nights. My glass is full and I’m drinkin’ it!

I’m a summer. Always have been. Although if there are a bunch of 100+ degree days this year like their were last year, my muffin top and back of the arm fat may revolt and make me swing on over to the winter-love team.

I am so ready for spring this year! But by the end of summer, I am wishing for summer. That’s one thing about FL, we have to get out of the state to enjoy the fall. But the springs – they come early. Like right after Christmas. And that is heaven on earth.

I’m still waiting for spring to actually arrive in Maine. I keep hearing about everyone else’s bursts of colour and all this green…yet I’m still sitting here looking at all this brown stuff and leafless trees. Bah humbug!
