Finally: My Butt’s Largesse EXPLAINED

Etcetera

Do you remember how, last week, I promised to list my favorite websites for stuff this Wednesday? And do you recall how I blew off listing my favorite soft rock hits from the ’70s? Even though I knew that post would be big, BIG!, babies. I’m telling you. And maybe you thought that I’d forget to blog my favorite stuff websites like I forgot to blog K-Tel’s greatest hits? And do you know how right now, you could care less what I do? And how you just want me to shut up? And how you’re not even here anymore?

So OK, I’ll get on with it.

Drum roll, please (I feel so Dwight Shrute right now. You know? Kind of self-important geeky?)…

All right, seriously. Here we go now.

No seriously.

OK, this time I mean it.

Don’t you wish you knew me for reals?

I could do this in person!

And you could hit me in the face! With real-life, actual fists!

Really, now let’s get into my websites. (Websites that do not know I’m listing them here, but they won’t care, right? There’s no, say, copyright infringement issues to be aware of?)

All right. Without further yammering:

Cool Clothing Websites:

  • Artful Wears

Artful Wears features unique, comfortable, cool-looking clothes that I covet often. The site also sells jewelry and bags. And I could drop major money here, if I could just find a way to hide it from my husband.

I like this dress from AW…because it’s basic, but with some flair.

  • My Shape

This site encourages you to input your measurements and the like, then offers you a clothing selection suited to your shape. I just ignore the measurements part and browse the clothes.

  • Twelve by Twelve

Owned by the Forever 21 people, Twelve by Twelve is great for casual, cheap basics, like this:

  • Penguin Store

I see the Penguin logo on a lot of things during my thrift store runs, and so I always associated Penguin with old-fashioned, threadbare, kitschy golf wear. BUT, I was so wrong. This site has the cutest clothes ever, and I’m totally buying this.

  • Boutique Overstock

Exactly what it says. Many high-end, boutique brands can be found here for a lot less than you’d pay for them full price.

  • Bloomingdales

I’m always amazed by the sales at Bloomingdales, because I thought its clothes were so out of my league price-wise. But not at all. In fact, the sales at Bloomies (the brick and mortar store especially) out-do any I’ve seen at the other department stores. And here’s a tip: the savings are even better if you sign up for their e-newsletter. I routinely get an extra 40% off the lowest marked prices of hundreds of items, like my kick-ass Faryl Robin boots and Joe’s Jeans.

  • The F!

I get a lot of fashion inspiration here. Many of the clothes pictured I’d never wear in a million years OR I’m too old to wear, but I like to see how she mixes colors and patterns and accessories. She’s got a great eye.

  •

    Websites with Cool Accessories:

    A bit of everything

  • Shana Logic

for her birthday, I bought my best friend one of these:

…and it came beautifully wrapped and she loved it. This website represents independent artists and sellers and features some truly one-of-a-kind designs. It’s sort of Etsy-esque, which is probably why I’m a fan.

  • Rimistyle

I think of Rimi as the Forever 21 of accessories. If you just want to follow a trend or get a cute basic that won’t take you into 2021, then this site has some cute things to try for fun.

  • Jewelry

  • Inspired Silver

I bought a cute Tiffany knock-off silver mesh ring here, and it’s lasted me through the seasons. Inspired Silver features current, trendy jewelry that’s made well.

  • Kelly Meeker Designs

Everything here is so, so, so, so pretty. I’ve long fantasized over this piece

…And now that I’ve posted it here, someone’s probably going to buy it and it will be all gone. Ah well, it removes the temptation. But I tell you what: if any of you San Diego Blog Bitches buy this, and I see you wearing it at PF Chang’s, I will rip it off your neck and stuff it in my pants.

Oh you better believe I will.

  • Two Sisters Jewelry

    Just beautiful pieces.

  • A Pretty Rock

Also: unique, pretty pieces with semi-precious stones.

  •

    Bags

  • Sea Breeze Studio

This site sells bags of all kinds (even water bottle bags) in the cutest styles and patterns. It’s a UK company, but they ship to the U.S.

  • Bag Haus

Fashion-forward purses for less than full price. I want this for the summer:

  •

    Cool Shoe Websites

  • Endless

Not much more to say! But I like
    these:

as a neutral add-on to summer dresses, chinos, and bermudas.

  • Habitat Shoes

Only if I had the money, only if I had the money. (Google Ads pay up the $4.82 you owe me for running your crappy ads on every page of my site for four months.)

  •

    Cool Stationary Website

  • Moon and Back Studios

I’ve long trolled stationary websites for creative holiday cards, funky notecards and envelope labels. Yea, I’ve looked long and hard for bright and unique designs, and I often have a hard time finding them on the web. BUT, Moon and Back delivered what I was looking for in a big way, and I’m thrilled to have found this site (through my bloggy friend, Myra, who does the designs). I just ordered this:

…with matching labels. And I can’t wait to get it! They’ll go so perfectly with that Kelly Meeker necklace I’m going to shove down my pants.

  •

Site to Combat All This Commercialism

  • Twenty-five Days to Make a Difference.

Anything I say about this website started by a young girl to benefit charitable causes will pale in comparison to how she tells it herself here.

Tomorrow, I’ll list some of my favorite kid’s clothes sites and a hodge podge of other websites, like the ones I consult for cooking and writing inspiration.

Wow — you do your research lady! I just bought a swimsuit online, it came yesterday, and is still sitting in the box. Because I’m really scared to try that sucker on. :(

MP: Sadly, this required very little research, as I’ve long had these sites bookmarked and visit them often. Thus: my enormous chair-cushion-shaped butt.

Vered: Bluefly too! Love the clothes there.

Great picks! That AW dress is adorable (and able to hide all manner of lower-body things largesse.)

I love Moon and Back Studios! Myra did my Christmas cards and my 1st Birthday Party invitations. I got SO MANY compliments. She also did some fancy magic that I requested to my photo and erased a man behind my daughter’s ear.

I would love to browse through the other stores. My ‘Amanda money’ budget isn’t big enough right now. Soon it will be though!

Oh my gawd! I love those shoes you have pictured here. I never used to be a shoe girl, but I’ve learned to love.

And this ring? I’ve had my eye on it for a while and might just have to get it for myself at this very reasonable price.

I’ve starred this. So that I can come back here when it’s time for shopping! But then, shopping requires money. :)

actually, i enjoyed the yammering more than anything. because, as you know, i can’t spend any money anyway. unless i go to target and spend it under the guise of the children needing summer clothes…

    cute ideas though! :)
