(Boy, the alliteration in that title wobbles my brain.)
Anyway. OK, so: I’ve been an Amazon shopper since 1998 (you can actually search your orders dating back to the very first one – mine was a book (obviously) about a man who loved numbers.
Since I DO NOT love numbers and they for sure don’t love me, I’m hard pressed to explain that purchase. Maybe I was trying to impress someone. (Wait. I WAS trying to impress someone. I met my now-husband in 1997, so I probably was still in “impress-him” mode and thought that book made me appear smart? That tracks.)
In completely unrelated news – the kind of news I’m known my house over for – I’ve compiled this list of five fun things, fashion-wise, I’ve bought on Amazon. These are NOT things I think are fun. These are things I KNOW are fun, or at least fashionable, because I own them. So you won’t find stupid recommendations of things I’ve never tried. I don’t do that kinda thing because I’ve been burned by other people’s stupid, never-used-themselves recommendations and Debbie don’t play that.

So here we go:
1- Faux leather pants.
These are forgiving and hot. Like both ways hot: in style and temp. I’m not going to lie – these can make you sweaty in seconds. (BUT if it’s winter or evening, that’s good, right?)
Either way, these pants are like miracles for your butt, stomach and legs. They cling but also stretch. I don’t know how they do it, but it just works. I wear these year round (even if they occasionally make me…moist), and they look great with everything. The waist sits high so rolls don’t roll, and the material accommodates everything that’s going on with my fluctuating weight while still looking structured and not schlumpy. I highly recommend these pants for adding some wardrobe pizzazz. Just remember I DID warn you: these have hotness.

2 – Sundress/Wine-tasting dress/Graduation mom dress
I wore this to my daughter’s high school graduation party (cinched with this belt) and compliments flowed in aplenty. This dress comes in a ton of colors and something about the high-lowness of it is just really flattering. I wore this with a jean jacket and those puffy slip-on tan sandal things and it just worked out so well. Also, with a hat? Just imagine the wine-tasting wardrobe possibilities!

3 – Basic black casual dress
I wear this all the time. It’s the BEST BASIC EVER. It comes in a stretchy, soft fabric (like brushed cotton-rayon), is a good length (midi) for dressing up or down, and just looks pulled together, even if you’re not. Like as a person. I tend to pair this perfect dress with a jean jacket (my go-to, all-the-time staple) and either black flip flops or a cool pair of camo platform sneakers. This dress can accentuate curves if you want it too (but not in a gross way) or you can get a size bigger and wear it more as a shift. Looks like this is on sale too (as of May, 2023), so you can get one in all the colors!

4 – Platform sandals
Something happened to my feet at age 46. All the heels and crazy crap I used to wear on them didn’t fly anymore. My feet are now like picky-eater little babies: there is a very limited amount of things they will tolerate near their person. But I still want to be cute! So I’m forever on a search for hip footwear that won’t piss off my feet. These sandals fit the bill. They’re adorable – and light – so it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing concrete blocks (like some platforms/wedges can feel like), and they’re easy to walk in and wear. I don’t get that weird pinky toe crunk thing happening either. You know what I mean. (Probably.) I got these in brown, but the yellow is a good neutral and summer-friendly!

5 – Black joggers
All-day uniform. It’s true – I wear workout pants or something stretchy most of my time here on earth. At least these joggers have a touch of panache so I don’t look like a total hobo. Something about the fabric isn’t slouchy, so it’s almost like I’m wearing comfortable trousers with a drawstring and elastic ankles. I’ve tried a lot of joggers in my day, and only a few make the cut. It’s like these (under $20) or the million-dollar Vuori or Lululemon. I’m not above spending the million for great basics, but if I can get comparable for a fraction of the price, it’s a yes.

There you have it. Fun fashion. There’s way more where that came from, but for now – hope you find something that works for you!
