San Diego Momma says
Halcyon surrender
Just words in a song?
poems lit from the inside?
with a sigh or a moan
that thunders its refusal
to be caught by skin
to be bound by bone
such fragile shelter
shaking in the wind
shaking in the wind
A wolf would blow it down
so bring him the lamb
Bring him the lamb
a trembling mess
Or let him inside
to rip the skin
to gnash the bone
befriend the thunder
To do what he’ll do
to take what is his

L.A. Stylist Mom says
I make lists in my head
When I cannot sleep from being
Overtired
Need
From everyone
All the time
Endlessly
The first list includes
Halcyon days before I was
Here
Tied down
And what I loved about them
The second
A list of now and
The people I adore
But which one is better
Is only dictated by
My own perception
And I fall into
A fitful slumber

I did it, a day late but damnit I did it.
